Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Many of you have reached out with concerns about the upcoming dues increase. I completely understand the frustration, especially as we continue to work without a contract.
It is important to clarify that this dues increase is not coming from our Local Lodge, it is mandated by the IAM Constitution and calculated annually using the federal CPI formula that applies to every IAM lodge across the Country. This adjustment is automatic, and locals do not have the authority to change, reduce, or delay it.
I also understand that the timing feels difficult, which is why I want to highlight some of the work being done on your behalf. As I am a Board member of the Health and Welfare Committee, I have asked to increase tempo pay for the past two (2) years. The Committee board last year increased Tempo pay from $200 dollars to $300 dollars. This year we have approved another increase of $75 dollars taking effect on January 1, 2026. The health and welfare committee successfully increased tempo pay by 87.5% over the past two (2) years. This is a significant improvement in compensation and support for our members, and the value gained far exceeds the 2.75% dues adjustment issued by the IAM.
Again your concerns are heard, and valid. We remain fully committed to securing a fair contract and meaningful wage improvements. Your Local continues to fight every day for better working conditions, stronger protection, and the compensation our members deserve.
2024 Tempo pay balance was $200 dollars & $100 for prescriptions. Total =$300.00
2025 Tempo pay increased to $300 dollars and 100 for prescriptions. Total = $400.00
2026 Tempo pay will increase to $375 dollars & prescriptions remain @ $100Total= $475.
